Octopilot Electronics is a small design and engineering consultancy based in Mountain View, CA. We specialize in designing custom software and hardware solutions to real-world problems. This includes web-based tools, custom electronics with embedded firmware and modern connectivity, and efficient native apps that don't leave any processing power on the table.
Ben Levitt is the driving force behind Octopilot Electronics. With a decades-long background bending technology to do his bidding, Ben calmly delivers effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
Ben started programming before he could read. He's been excited about developing for mobile and resource-constrained devices since high school, when he worked summers building wireless, message-passing tools for doctors with the Stanford Medical Informatics Group. Later, while studying Symbolic Systems at Stanford, he expanded into working with programmable microcontrollers to build custom electronics. After school, he followed his software passions into voice and music recognition, native mobile apps, and building out internal tooling to improve work life for him and his coworkers. And he followed his hardware passions to electric skateboards, custom RC plane autopilots, home automation, and robotics. Ben starts and contributes to open source projects, and likes to release his personal hardware designs as open hardware.
When not writing code or designing circuit boards, you can find him snowboarding, critiquing new boba tea shops, flying RC planes equipped with his own autopilot, or iterating on his sourdough recipes.
